Numerical Modelling of Water Flashing at Sub-Atmopsheric Pressure with a Multi-Regime Approach

چکیده

The CFD numerical study of the flash boiling phenomenon a water film was conducted using an Euler–Euler method, and compared to experiments on flashing film. is initially heated at temperatures ranging from 34 74 ∘C (frim 1 41 superheat), pressure decreased bar 50 mbar during experiments. This paper shows that could not be correctly modelled by simple liquid/bubble model because overestimation drag force above (in gas/droplet region). generalised large interface (GLIM), however, multi-regime approach implemented in version 7.0 neptune_cfd software, able differentiate film, where interactions are predominant gas region predominant, gives nice qualitative results. Finally, this interfacial heat transfer Berne for superheated liquids accurately predict evolution temperature over time.

Option Pricing with Regime Switching Correlation: a Numerical Pde Approach

Modelling correlation between financial quantities is important in the accurate pricing of financial derivatives. In this paper, we introduce some stochasticity in correlation, by considering a regime-switching correlation model, in which the transition rates between regimes are given. We present a derivation of the associated Partial Differential Equation (PDE) problem. The problem involves a ...

Numerical Modelling in a Multi-Scale Ocean

Systematic improvement in ocean modelling and prediction systems over the past several decades has resulted from several concurrent factors. The first of these has been a sustained increase in computational power, as summarized in Moore’s Law, without which much of this recent progress would not have been possible. Despite the limits imposed by existing computer hardware, however, significant a...

Two Phase Heat Transfer Characteristics in a Vertical Small Diameter Tube at Sub Atmospheric Pressure

Two-phase heat transfer is experimentally examined through vertical small diameter tubes, D =1.45 and 2.8 mm using water under a pressure of 50 to 81 kPa and a natural circulation condition. The pool boiling correlation by Stephan-Abdelsalam and the thermosyphon boiling correlation by Imura, et al. predict the measured experimental data in the 2.8 mm tube with an error of -30%. A large heat tra...

A numerical approach for modelling thin cracked plates with XFEM

The modelization of bending plates with through the thickness cracks is investigated. We consider the Kirchhoff-Love plate model which is valid for very thin plates. We apply the eXtended Finite Element Method (XFEM) strategy: enrichment of the finite element space with the asymptotic bending and with the discontinuity across the crack. We present two variants and their numerical validations an...

Numerical investigation of heat transfer in parallel channels with water at supercritical pressure

Thermal phenomena such as heat transfer enhancement, heat transfer deterioration, and flow instability observed at supercritical pressures as a result of fluid property variations have the potential to affect the safety of design and operation of Supercritical Water-cooled Reactor SCWR, and also challenge the capabilities of both heat transfer correlations and Computational Fluid Dynamics CFD p...
